Editor’s Take
Most trip reviews tend to focus on some or all of these 5 key areas, not all of which may be relevant to you: the tour guide, travel company, service level, country or countries traveled in, and the trip itinerary. Remember, just because you see a 1 star review doesn’t necessarily mean that person disliked the country.
Denmark may be one of the smaller European countries, but it has so much culture and history to offer that it may be slightly overwhelming to have to pick and choose activities. With this in mind, it is very important to research your trip and highlight the main activities that you would like to participate in beforehand. This way you can explore all the itineraries with an idea of what type of trip you are looking for.
The lower rated reviews for Denmark tours tend to speak negatively about the optional excursions and activities that are listed on itineraries. Some travelers said that they felt the optional tours either weren't worth their time, or that there were too many and they were not explained well.
Those who said there were too many preferred useing the time to explore on their own. If you choose to participate in one of these optional tours, you should do research ahead of time and ask your tour company for more details to find out if the excursions are something you would enjoy, or if you would rather do something else on your own time.
Some travelers said the itinerary felt rushed and multiple senior travelers said they were tired and would rather enjoy a few things in depth than hurry to cram in a bunch of activities in little time. This could also be a result of Denmark being included on wider Europe tours. Bear in mind that Denmark tour reviews will usually be assesing the tour as a whole (numerous countries), not Denmark specifically.
If you aren't interested in a go go go kind of tour, look up all attractions and items in the itineraries to compare and find out what Denmark itinerary is right for your traveling style. Many of the companies cater to older travelers looking to relax with more free time while some specifically accommodate young adventure travelers looking to see as much as possible.
Travelers must keep in mind that Denmark is expensive. The good news is that many travel companies give you a ballpark price of how much you will be spending and you get to choose which tour is the most reasonable for your budget.
Like much of Europe, accommodations in Denmark are fairly different when it comes to comfort levels. When you travel by coach, you may feel slightly crammed and hotels might not be as roomy as you are accustomed to.
