What Makes Them Stand Out?
Their tours are very long and definitely life changing. Groups are small, and everyone get’s involved to make it a unique and special experience. Founders, Karen Brown and William Thomson often attend the tours themselves, meaning they really know the ins and outs of what overland travel is like and requires physically and mentally. These trips can be a challenge, but they are one of the best ways to grow as a traveler and as a person.
Who Travels With Them?
Overland trips attracts travelers who are looking for an extended travel experience and the chance to meet and get to know their fellow travel companions on a deeper level. Overland is a community event - everyone participates in helping cook, clean, and provide general assistance. It usually involves camping for multiple nights in a row, and long bus ride days. All ages can participate, but make sure you have “roughing it” in mind.

About the company
Madventure is a small overland adventure tour company owned and operated by William Thomson, a keen adventurer with 20 years experience offering overland expeditions to off-the-beaten-track destinations around the globe.
Originally Madventure specialised in running London to Sydney overland expeditions and this is still our most popular trip. Along the way we decided to offer more adventures such as our Istanbul to Kathmandu Overland expedition, UK to OZ by Bus trip, Central Asia Overland tour, Beijing to Istanbul Silk Road trip, UK to OZ Overland Rally, Round the World in 80 Days tour and our 49 States of Madness American Rally. We stick to what we know and focus solely on making our expeditions as good as they can be.
William runs one of the expeditions himself every year so spends much of his time on the road. Madventure also employs experienced drivers/leaders such as Adam Fox who has been with the company for 5 years and can frequently be found running the London to Sydney Overland expedition.
Madventure tours are unique, challenging and life-changing so if you are looking for a true adventure then we definitely have an expedition for you. We generally have no more than 100 clients travel with us yearly and we take pride in offering a personal service to each and every person undertaking an adventure with us.
