Jomsom and Muktinath trekking is the best trek in Annapurna region which is on the way to Mustang. Muktinath 3710m (12172 ft) is famous for pilgrimage spot for both the Hindus and Buddhists and great trekking area for travelers. Hindus, it is sacred as the place of salvation. The Hindus believe that bathing in the water here guarantees salvation after death. The Hindu god, Bramha, is thought to have lit the eternal flames that still burns at Muktinath which means (freedom from the karma). For the Buddhists, it is a place that the great sage Guru Rinpoche (Padmasambhava) had meditation, it’s source of fossilized ammonites, known locally as saligrams, which are found all along the upper reaches of the Kali Gandaki valley. If you want to do shorter trek you can do Ghorepani Poonhill trek. Different amazing floras and faunas of this region provide you with unexpected moments of your life. You observe many endangered species like musk deer, leopards, spotted deer etc. in the beautiful forest of pine and bamboo.
